About Tarsar Marsar Trek
The Tarsar Marsar trek lies in the heart of Kashmir. This trek will make sure that you get to know why Kashmir is known to be the heaven on earth. You get to witness the three of the most beautiful lakes - Tarsar, Marsar, and Sundarsar. You will get the opportunity to camp beside these snow-fed lakes surrounded by lush green trees, literally.
Once you are here on the trek, the most famous song dedicated to Kashmir - "Agar Jannat Hai Zamin Me Kahin, Yahi Par Hai, Haminasto" which means " If there is heaven on earth, it is here, it is here" feels real.
The landscape around you will at times feel unreal if you are someone not based out of Himalayan states and coming directly from the cities.
The trek starts from Pahalgam. In order to reach Pahalgam from Srinagar, you will need to take shared or private cabs You will start your trek from a pretty village named Aru, obviously surrounded by lush green Himalayas.
Tarsar Lake is separated by a mountain that is elevated at around 13000 feet from the other lake which is known as Marsar lake.
Other than this, the trail is flooded with green meadows, pristine alpine rivers, and mighty Himalayas and valleys in Dachigam National Park. Trekking along the lakes with lucid blue sky gives an amazing view of the surrounding. It is the best alternative to the Kashmir Great Lakes trek.

Carry proper trekking shoes because there are sections with rocks and boulders which can be very dangerous to walk on.
