About Sikkim

Sikkim, surrounded by Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in India and has gained popularity slowly as travelers from across the globe started exploring it. The state has a wide dramatic landscape to offer to all its travelers approaching the state.

 

The most fascinating thing about this place is that people find it pleasing enough even after repeated travel. The madness to explore the state further never fades away.

 

When the sky is clear enough, one can get the view of the third-highest mountain peak in the world i.e Mt. Kanchenjunga. The beauty of this state can never be described in words or captured in your lenses, one has to actually visit the state in order to get a clear picture of the beauty of the states.

 

You will also get to visit many remote villages where you can interact with them and get to know their lifestyle their culture and get a chance to taste the local foods. As the days pass by you will get to know more reasons why travelers fall in love with this place and you will soon realize that all the hype about Sikkim is all worth enough.

You will be visiting the Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir, Tashi viewpoint, Seven Sister Waterfalls, Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, and also Temi tea garden which is the only tea garden in the state of Sikkim which is also referred to as one of the best tea gardens in India.

How to reach Sikkim?

The fastest mode to reach Sikkim is by air. You can take a flight to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) and from there you can get private or hired taxis to Sikkim and it will take you 5-6 hours to reach the desired point. 

In case you are planning to travel by train, then you can get off at Jalpaiguri station or Siliguri station which is in West Bengal. After getting off at the station you can easily find shared cabs and private taxis as per your need which will be taking you to Sikkim.

If you want to reach Sikkim by road then you can travel to the nearest places like Darjeeling, Siliguri, or Jalpaiguri which is in West Bengal.

Short Itinerary:

Day 1 - NJP Railway station /Bagdogra Airport to Gangtok (4 Hours)

Day 2 - Gangtok Local Sightseeing: Tsongmo Lake | Baba Mandir | Nathu La (Optional)

Day 3 - Gangtok to Lachen (6 hours)

Day 4 - Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake (40 km each side) - Lachung (44 km/2 hours)

Day 5 - Lachung - Yumthang Valley (26 km/1.5 hours) - Gangtok (130 km/4 to 5 hours)

Day 5 - Gangtok – NJP Railway station /Bagdogra Airport (4 Hours)

Travel Advisory:

  • This is a group tour, so there should be at least 5-6 travelers in a batch for the tour to take place. It is advised to the travelers to contact us before booking the package online.

  • Do not consume alcohol or any other intoxicants while on the tour, anyone found doing so will be immediately terminated from the tour with zero refund.

  • Everyone must carry 2 passport size photographs and 2 valid government ID proofs along with their photocopies.

  • As per state guidelines, travelers with a turban are not allowed to enter Lachen.

  • North Sikkim includes tribal villages like Lachen & Lachung which is known for the beautiful scenic views of the Kanchenjunga range. As they are located in remote areas where the accommodation quality may vary compared to accommodations in cities. One may not expect luxuries here. There are no luxurious hotels here.

  • The Happy Trekkers reserve the right to rearrange the itinerary for reasons that are beyond control like natural calamity, weather conditions, roadblocks, etc.

  • Nathula Pass check post closes at 10:30 AM and remains closed on Monday and Tuesday every week. There are some limitations to enter this place for civilians because this is the Indo-China border and is controlled by the Indian Army. Travelers can opt for visiting this place at an additional cost directly to the tour operator.

  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain activities or sightseeing may be canceled and in such cases, we will try to provide an alternate date for the same tour or another tour within the same range. A refund may not be applicable & we may not be responsible for any costs arising out of unforeseen circumstances like landslides, roadblocks, bad weather, etc.

  • Any sightseeing point which is not completed due to time constraints, traffic jam, natural calamity, travelers starting late, permits issued late, or any other reason beyond control, we do not take the liability for a refund or a discount.

  • Foreigners are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir.

  • We do not encourage littering and it is strictly dealt with. The tour involves many beautiful spots, villages along the way and nobody is expected to pollute the surrounding.

Booking Confirmation Policy

  • The customer receives a confirmation about the booking via e-mail within 24 hours of successful booking. In case a customer has not received any e-mail from us on booking confirmation post 24 hours, he/she can reach us at thehappytrekkers@gmail.com or can also call us at 8759990845 / 9647110928.

  • In case we find that there are no slots available for a certain date, the customer will be given the option to reschedule to some other date or cancel the tour with a full refund to their source account within the next 10 business days.

Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made within the last 30 days before the start of the trek, 30% of the total tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.

  • If cancellations are made within the last 15 days before the start of the trek, 50% of the tour cost will be charged as a cancellation fee.

  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, the trek might get canceled. In such cases, we will try our best to provide an alternate date or alternate trek to the customer. However, a cash refund will not be applicable for the same, customer can book some other tours for some other dates. 

  • In case a customer wants to reschedule a date, he or she can do that by simply dropping a mail at thehappytrekkers@gmail.com

Refund Policy

  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

  • All the applicable refund will be done in the customer's source account.
