About Kedarnath Trek
Kheerganga or Kheer Ganga as the name suggests is Ganga River as white as a Kheer (an Indian sweet dish made from milk and Rice) The name Kheerganga came due to the milky waters of the river flowing in all its vastness and its streams flowing into Parvati valley from all sides of the mountain. Kheerganga is mainly a spiritual spot located at an altitude of 2960m in the Pin Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh. The valley offers a beautiful view of the Parvati River and the glaciers of Lahul-Spiti.
To reach Kheerganga there are two trails, one goes through the small yet beautiful village named Kalga and the other one has a beautiful Shiva Temple en route. The path that goes through the village is shorter compared to the other one but it is steep, slippery, and dangerous, so this is perfect for those who are adventure lovers and want to get fun and adventure both within a day or two. The other route that goes through the Shiva Temple which is mystical and offers mesmerizing views of flora to the travelers all through the way.
The best part of this trek is that it has a natural hot water spring on the top, so even if you are exhausted and dead tired while trekking up the hill, you have a natural remedy ready that can heal up your tired soul and can cheer you up to enjoy and explore the valley more.
